Lighting around paint and spray booths
Paint-shop work includes surface preparation, equipment repairs and cleaning around the booth. Hand lamps and supported task lights bring local illumination to maintenance positions, complementing the booth’s installed lighting rather than replacing its purpose-built fixtures.
Keep the surface visible
A hand lamp brings light close to a component, connection or repair surface. A separately supported task light leaves both hands available for tools while keeping the source aimed at the maintenance position.
Light direction affects how the workpiece and nearby equipment cast shadows. Local maintenance lighting serves a different role from the fixed illumination used during coating application inside the booth.
Start with the booth requirements
Booth classification, coating materials and installation requirements determine which lights are suitable for work inside the spray area. Equipment used in an adjacent maintenance position may face different requirements from equipment used inside the booth.
A sealed enclosure or a general industrial description does not establish spray-booth suitability. The complete light, its electrical arrangement and its mounting must suit the particular task and location.
