Como instalar iluminação temporária em uma obra

Temporary lighting should follow the build without leaving work surfaces and access routes in shadow. Begin with a site plan, the applicable illumination requirements and the supply available for lighting circuits.

1. Mark the work and access routes

Identify active tasks, corridors, stairs, loading positions and exits. Note obstructions and how partitions or installed services will change the space. Use the applicable OSHA 1926.56 category for each area, including the special underground provisions where relevant.

2. Choose lighting for the working view

String lights serve successive positions along an interior run. Overhead temporary lights cover larger areas, while portable task lights reach repairs and detailed installations. Review photometric information and measure representative tasks rather than using total lumens as proof of adequate illumination.

3. Plan safe power and mounting

Have the responsible electrical team verify circuits, overcurrent protection, grounding and required GFCI arrangements. Protect lamps from breakage and cables from sharp edges, vehicles and pinch points. Lights must not hang by their cords unless the equipment is designed for it.

4. Check wet and conductive work separately

OSHA's construction rule for portable lighting in wet or conductive locations specifies 12V or less, with a stated 120V-with-GFCI alternative. The light, connections and complete assembly must also suit the exposure. A low-voltage supply does not establish hazardous-location approval.

5. Recheck the installed result

Check shadows, glare, supports and access after installation and as the building changes. Inspect cords, guards and lenses, remove defective equipment and follow the equipment's servicing instructions.

Construction string lights and portable work lights have different roles within a temporary lighting arrangement.
